The Mediterranean Town of Dénia is situated between the two major airports (Alicante & Valencia) on the Costa Blanca, with a population of 30,000. This historical town has retained the qualities of "old Spain" while providing all the amenities of a modern town.

Although the World Health Organisation has declared this particular area of Spain the Healthiest in the whole of Europe, mainly due to the 325 days of sunshine, the town still boasts one National Health Hospital and two private clinics. As a point of interest, it is a proven fact, that people suffering from arthritic and other similar complaints find the painful symptoms all but disappear when staying in this area.

Denia’s calendar of cultural events and festivities is one of the richest in Spain. Both visitors and locals enjoy the Carnival in February, the Fallas in March, Easter in April, Fogueres de Sant Joan (Saint John’s beach bonfires) in June, our Patron’s festivity in July, the famous Moors and Christians festival in August… and more… Catching an event or two should be part of everyone’s visit to Denia.
Dénia
has a comprehensive list of various restaurants, with typical Spanish food at very reasonable prices,
and at the other extreme there are top class 5 star options. There are also the Gallego restaurants which
specialise in meats from huge T Bone steaks to whole legs of lamb. The biggest and the best you will
ever taste. Other choices include Italian, Greek, Chinese, Indian and Indonesian.
As in all of Spain, which has more Bars and Cafés per head than any where in the world, Dénia is littered with bars. There are many different typical Spanish Bars with traditional “tapas” . For the younger set there are a number of continental bars / Discos.

With it’s long sandy beaches to the north and rocky coves to the south, Dénia has something to offer everyone when it comes to water sports. Lessons are available for all sports including sailing, skiing, and sub aqua diving.
Large sandy Beaches for paddling and swimming The coastal town of Dénia has it’s own Fishing fleet and large marina and Yacht Club. Prefer Land? Dénia castle has a museum where you can learn of Dénia’s long history. Horse riding and guided walks into the interior are also available. SportsGolfDénia has an eighteen hole golf course (designed by José María Olozabal) And two other Golf Courses near by.
